dear respective team managers and captains,
we are a social team and would like to invite any teams for a friendly game in Happy Valley
on 5th. April @ 9pm. pitch # 6. our priority is on pleasure and "to sweat it out". Winning or losing is not a concern, although we can be considered competitive. We do not resort to
heavy tackles or much physical contacts in friendlies. There will be no charge for the pitch
so if any team is interested to test your new players or team strategies, this is the best chance for you...
Thanx...

The Olympic teams of China, Australia, Jamaica and a Hong Kong selection team will participate in the Lunar New Year Cup 2007.
While Australia and Jamaica are preparing for the 2008 Olympic Games, China, who have automatic entry as hosts, are currently training in Europe.
The competition will be played on the first and fourth day of the Lunar New Year holidays (18th and 21st February) at the Hong Kong Stadium on a knockout basis. The schedule includes two matches on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 18) and the playoff for third/fourth place and the Final on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (February 21).
Australia, who reached the last eight of the Athens Olympics in 2004, will be camping in Hong Kong from February 8-13 before playing Chinese Taipei in the away leg of the preliminary Olympic qualifiers on February 14. The first leg takes place on February 7. The winner of this match will take their place in the main round of qualifying in Group D with Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan/Kyrgyzstan.
The draw will be held on the 31st January 2007.

Hello, I'm an Englishman, fresh off the boat into Hong Kong. I'm looking for a team here. I'm 24, (relatively) fit, got plenty of previous experience, playing for school, then University, then Sunday league teams back in England.
I'm left-footed, and can play anywhere on that side, though left back, left-midfield are my strengths. As I said, i've just arrived so have no idea how this league works. But am keen and happy to keep the bench warm until I get a chance.
Cheers,
Tom |

Henrik my friend, my god how you will be missed. We had some great battles on the pitch, and we had some even better times off it in places like such as Manila, Singapore, Sydney, and Bangkok. I will never forget your generosity, your friendship, and your love of football. You were a winner in every sense, but on the few occasions you came out second best, the world of football could take a leaf from your book about how to be a gracious loser - a finer sportsman you will never meet. I'm so pleased the HK Soccer Sevens gave us the chance to lock horns again and to renew our friendship. The Club, and indeed Hong Kong, has lost one of its most charismatic characters. I feel as if I have lost part of my family. Thank you so much for all the good memories and great times, and for the valuable lessons on how to live life to the fullest. Till we meet again. |
|
|
Henrik - Thank you for everything you brought the HK football scene, we could write pages and pages on you. All i ever heard were great stories about you as a fantastic person, on the rare occaisons we chatted, these stories were reinforced. You were the original German All Star - RIP and god bless you Henrik, you wont be forgotten. You will forever be a German All Star! |

Catalan from Barcelona, not really looking for a team... Just popped into your web and found my old friend Eran Brenners, a player from Dynamo, Division 4. I was just wondering if it is possible for you to forward my email address (bduralla@saet.es) to him or his Club in order to get in touch with him. Long time since we last knew from each other!.
Thank you very much in advance. |

i am the goalie of 816
i played between the stick for over 15 years from school level, college level and lot more.
i think we should protect ourselves instead of hoping ref to protect us
in fact, the laws of football give goalie a lot of advantages already
and i don't see any ref didn't do their job well.
so it's time for us (GK) to train up ourselves and protect ourselves by our own strength, anticipation, skill and intelligence |

Gents,
Sorry if you've seen this already, but it's a good one!
There are 42 English Footy clubs in the picture apparently (copy and paste the link below)!
I've got the answers aswell... but so as not to tempt you, I'll keep hold of that for now!
I got 35 without looking at them. I'll warn you now that some of them are ridiculous!
Enjoy...!!!! =)

Richard we arte always on the lookout for defencive holding flank half as we ahve to many offence line strikers at the moment. If your dad is English and suppors Manchester Utd then even better as that will make settling in down at the club much easier.Do you still only have one trick? |

Hey, I'm a Canadian new in Hong Kong, currently living in Tsuen Wan and I'm looking to join a club. I am 24 with previous experience with a community club and college level soccer (ya ya, football) in Canada. I usually play in a wide defense and/or midfield position with my strengths being my speed and field sense on the back end. Right now I'm just looking to get out and play and help contribute to a team wherever I can. Hope to hear from you, cheers! |

Ah think all youz goalies are softies, and want to harden up a wee bit. to play a mans game. |
|
|
playing as a goalie for years, i strongly agree on that the league should take serious concerns about the goalkeeper protection. it may be a controversial topic, but the benefit should be granted to goalkeepers, esp in the amateur level. pls consider the fact - the goalie's body is open for impact in all directions (regardless the opponent players do it with or without purpose) when he runs for a ball with both arms/ hands up. i do not know whether Rick of Corinthians suffered it in his recent game or not. in fact, i am still suffering with a swelling on my face & back pain caused by an un-necessary strike last sunday. i cant remember whether the referee gave him a yellow card or not, but it is meaningless. |
|
|
Having played a number of years in the yau yee league, I am a little concerned about the risks involved with goalkeepers. I am wondering what precautions the committe are taking to ensure the safety of keepers from wayward boots and unneccessary charges from opposition strikers. |
|
|
Are there any other goalkeepers in the Yau Yee League that feel they are not being protected by referees. Referees have allowed strikers to charge through and make contact with nothing more than a "bad boy, don't do it again" attitude. Watching other games before and after ours I have noticed the same thing happening throughout the divisions. Maybe it is time us old keepers stand up and demand protection before someone is seriously hurt. |
|

Any chance this website can get up to speed with the previously very efficiently run version......the tables are wrong almost every week. |

..."You will see that not all of the data from the matches over the weekend have been entered into the system and therefore the tables are still not up to date"...
To be a SMART system, in the "real world" pratically, if you want the TABLE to be updated asap, the "Match Result" and the "Details" should be processed separately. |
