Michael Johnson (Johno)

As a member of the British Army in Hong Kong (after previous tours in Northern Ireland, Germany and Falkland Islands) as a corporal in J3 (Operations) on 11F Prince of Wales Building started playing for Hong Kong Squadron from the start of 1990-91 season.

Became player manager at age 22 in December 1991 (until end of 1999-2000 season)

Hands on management of all aspects of YYL operations, including finance, fixtures, discipline, rules and constitution and event management of cup finals, 6s and annual dinner.
Negotiated approx HK$2M in sponsorship.

Michael Yen

Webmaster - Mr Matrix

Michael Yen joined the Yau Yee Football League in 1994 and played upon his retirement in 2025 as Goalkeeper for Team CAPS.

He significantly contributed his time, passion and vision to build the best amateur football website ever to be.

Michael joined the YYL ExCo in 2005 and remained our Webmaster and Div 4 Rep until retiring in 2025.

For his 20 years of service, Michael was awarded the YYL Lifetime Honory Member Award in 2025.
