CSOB, HKSS, Skyline and University all progressed to the last four in the Chairman’s Cup yesterday with 3-1, 2-0, 1-0 and 3-2 wins over Goal Visio, Yan Po, Scorpions and CAPS respectively to ensure a new name will be on this year’s trophy.
Swiss’ 2-1 victory overr Azzurri and Knights’ 5-0 win against GGFC ensured there are only division one teams left in the draw for the semi-finals of the cup after they were joined by Colts, who walloped Dynamo 10-0, and Wanderers who edged GAS 2-1 after extra time in a thrilling encounter, in the last four.
Albion, with a game in hand, are only two points behind leaders Wanderers after winning 3-1 in their game against Knights and with Colts’ rearranged fixture with Knights this Wednesday the race for the Chamionship is looking like it might just go down to the wire on 30 April, Boca leapfrogged Azurri after beating third placed HKU70s 2-0 and Maccabi extended their lead at the top of the third tier after hammering FOB 10-0.
